Dekaloog

Flirting with the Ten Commandments

SKaGeN presents its largest collective production to date: for this, the company has adapted the 10 DEKALOOG films by the Polish filmmaker K. Kieślowski.

In DEKALOOG, you follow six characters – a father, a daughter and a mother, a mistress, a doctor and a murderer – over the course of a month, spanning 25 years, from the start of this century to the present day. In each instalment, they flirt with one of the Ten Commandments.

Their story begins in the year 2000 and jumps forward three years at a time, right up to the present day. Ten parts in total. Ten commandments. Ten experiences. It is a chronicle of choices, love, guilt, desire and chance. You’ll experience their world in places you wouldn’t expect: in a chat room, a radio studio, a museum gallery, on Instagram, in a book, … The month concludes with a theatre performance in the auditorium, where a further four ‘dekalogues’ will be presented. As the audience walks out,

they’ll be given a graphic novel to take away, which rounds off the DEKALOOG.
